Hong Kong Christian Council calls for prayer after Sri Lanka bomb attacks

On April 21 Easter morning as people celebrated the resurrection of the Savior, three churches and four large hotels were attacked by bombs in Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital. More than 200 people were killed and over 400 injured. This is an act of violence against human dignity. At present, the government is working hard to find out the real killers and the organizations behind the scenes. It is reported that this is a terrorist attack against Christianity.

The HKCC appeals to all Christians in Hong Kong to pray for the victims. May the Lord’s comfort and support be with the families and friends of the victims in terrorist attacks; and to pray for the wounded, wishing them a speedy recovery and to be healed in their hearts and minds. Pray for the Sri Lankan government that they can bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible, and bring security to the country and safety for the people. May God bless the Sri Lankan society to unite in the face of violence without fear, to overcome hatred and prejudice with love and fraternity. We ask our Lord to restore peace in Sri Lanka and give hope to those who suffer.
